Who Runs the World? Moms!

I’ve heard in person and through the grapevine – the same interesting comment about a triathlon I completed: “Venida can do this because she doesn’t have kids.”
Hubby Todd and I have also heard similar grumblings about our travels, and believe it or not, our ability to take naps. Really?!

So…. mothers do nothing but work – inside and outside the home – and take care of children? I would never want to minimize the huge responsibility of being a parent. As I observe their deep level of commitment to family, it seems as if there is no rest for the weary – from diapers to homework, and from Mom’s Taxi Service, to college tuition. Moms are counselors, consolers, and confidants. Moms also realize the importance of taking care of themselves so they can effectively care for their little whippersnappers.

My mom is the greatest mother in the world who taught me, through words and actions, to serve God, love others, and experience life to the fullest. And yes – she was right there at my triathlon – where I was running with loads of tri-moms – cheering me on. I know her spirit will be with us for our upcoming half marathon.

Who has always run the world? Moms!
