As we work to abolish white supremacy in America, keep this premise in mind:

My efforts are centered on all Black lives.

This is a movement, not a moment.

As a church dedicated to ushering in the next 500 years of Christianity, we commit to educating ourselves, praying, and taking action so we can build a more just and generous world.

“The Spirit of the Lord is on me because God has anointed me to proclaim the good news to the poor and he has sent me proclaim freedom for prisoners and recovery sight for the blind and to set the oppressed free.” - Luke 4:18

“God has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.” - Micah 6:8

Please read the Forefront Race Equality Proclamation. It clarifies our goals and community guidelines as each of us progress on this journey.

Below are resources for all groups - Black, indigenous, asian, latinx and white - to Pray, Grow and Act.

We find ourselves at different stages on our journey towards equity. Countless variables contribute to our own ignorance, shame, trauma, and privilege.

No one is born hating another person because of the color of his skin, or his background, or his religion. People must learn to hate, and if they can learn to hate, they can be taught to love, for love comes more naturally to the human heart than its opposite. Nelson Mandela

Pray

Here you will find powerful sources, guides and groups that ease us into God’s embrace.

While we each need to grow in our own way, we share the practice of prayer.

This section contains resources, groups and opportunities for Black people that provide rest and strength during the struggle.

In America, Black, Indigenous, and other people of color have the daily experience of being "othered." While we recognize and mourn this fact, the events continually unfolding in our country ask us to center Black lives and the Black american experience, which has a long and painful history. Therefore we're taking time to center Black lives and working to change the systems and policies that repress their flourishing.

We also acknowledge that prejudice towards Black people exists in non-Black POC communities. We welcome non-Black POC to find peace from the content below, but we also invite them to challenge their own racist tendencies by seeing the Allies section.

By uniting in the important work of eradicating racism we will bring equity, respect, and a bigger glimpse of God's intended kingdom.

From short reads, to books, videos, podcasts and courses, the content below will educate white allies on their long and never-ending journey.

White persons have clear marching orders: a responsibility to educate self, to teach by example, and make personal changes that can impact friends, family and the unjust systems of our society. The effort required is great. Expect denial, discomfort and to be overwhelmed. But fear not! Your willingness to learn from others, to act as an accomplice for our marginalized siblings will allow for the peace of Christ to shine.

Act

Here you’ll find our recommendations of how to take action in your own home with your kids and families, to the streets, on the phone and online.

We come together when take collective action.
