July 2017 Gender Revolution (film screening & discussion)

Join Queer Communion and Forefront Church for a public film screening and group discussion on gender identity. Early this year, National Geographic produced a documentary called Gender Revolution: A Journey with Katie Couric. In it, Couric explores how gender identity is defined and what labels people use in different societies in today's world. Through discussion and conversation, let's unpack the merits and flaws of the film to see how gender and faith intersect. Discussion will be facilitated by Liz Edman, author of Queer Virtue and an Episcopal Priest, and Hannah Soldner, blogger at Believe out Loud.

Gender is an identity that impacts us all--straight or queer, cis or trans. What is male? Female? Must we conform to a gender? What does God have to do with it all? We believe everyone plays a role in this conversation, so everyone is welcome, regardless of your gender identity!
