The organizations we're supporting this year...
Our partnership with Nomi Network began with their founding in 2008 and we’re grateful for the life-changing work they do around the world. Nomi Network’s mission is to create economic opportunities for survivors and women at risk of human trafficking by equipping them with leadership, entrepreneurship, and production skills to become financially independent.
Our goal for Celebration Generosity is to provide Nomi Network with the resources needed to build an enhanced training center for survivors and at risk women in India.
Forefront is excited about one of our newest partnerships in the city, Defy Ventures.
Defy is an entrepreneurship, employment, and character training program for people with criminal histories. Defy works to “transform the hustle” of formerly incarcerated Entrepreneurs-in-Training (EITs) by offering intensive leadership development, Shark Tank-style business plan competitions, executive mentoring, financial investment, and startup incubation. Defy offers their EITs a legitimate chance to succeed and equips them to become profitable entrepreneurs, stellar employees, engaged parents, committed role models, and leaders in their communities.
Our Forefront Community was started under the direction and influence of Orchard Group in 2005.
For more than 50 years Orchard Group has planted churches in influential cities in the across America and abroad. Our friend Watson Jones recently started Restoration Church, a creative and diverse community in the city of Philadelphia. Forefront is proud to partner with Orchard Group and Restoration Church for Celebration Generosity 2015.
Celebration Generosity is annual event that aims to further our vision of seeing lives, neighborhoods, and our city renewed through the power of Jesus. It supports that vision in two primary ways:
1) It cultivates holistic generosity in our church community.
2) It supports organizations in our city committed to renewal.
95% of New Yorkers claim to live outside a relationship with Christ, and more than 20% live below the poverty line. We give generously because we want to bring renewal to our city by helping people find their way back to God and by serving those that are most often overlooked.
Celebration Generosity culminates with the giving of 100% of an extravagant offering (above and beyond our normal giving) to three organizations in New York that are actively seeking the peace and prosperity of the city.
